Photo Essay : Site Fieldwork Comparing Impact of Urbanization on Ecosystems

Site 3 the final site in parts of fenland farmland which have not been affected by the new building site at all and kept the same, there was so many plants, trees and vegetation which was considerably healthy even though there has been less rainfall over past weeks. There was no sign of litter or trampling. There were no industrialised buildings just long stretched areas of land and growing vegetation which is monitored and much wildlife animal but also large amounts of insects.

Therefore, this shows us the shift from site 1 to site 2 how site 1 used to look like site 3 full of land and vegetation and now the huge shift to no vegetation and are concrete and buildings. Considering that there are many habitats seen in site 3 the fact that all that vegetation were cut down may show how much habitats were destroyed if they are no longer seen there.

Site 1 photos have shown that there are significant amounts of buildings and structures, also concrete such as the busy road and paths. These photos are taken at the new building estate which used to be hedgerows, farmland and vegetation. Looking at these photos there is not visible damage straight away however comparing this photo to my site 3 or comparing it to previous photos before the buildings, it shows a huge shift and a difference which therefore shows how much habitats were destroyed and how much was taken away from wildlife.

Site 2 is taken not too far from the buildings estate but this area is used for human purposes such as football and other attractions, even though this land is used by humans there is much more green area seen than in site 1, much more healthy trees, hedgerows and green space. However, due to this area being used constantly there was visible littering and trampling though not as extreme and frequent. This shows that not too far from the new housing estate there is still visible damage, but some parts of nature are kept healthy and safe.
